About

Hi, I’m Tim, a multifaceted human with an eclectic skillset who dreams of a better world.

My guiding passion in life is creating experiences, both live and online, and this has been my compass through a decade and a half as a multi-disciplinary maker with deep experience in both event production and web development.

I am intensely proud of my accomplishments for bringing me to today, but I define myself by what I want to do tomorrow. I am always looking forward to continuing to challenge myself, gain new skills to add to my toolbox and contribute to interesting projects that matter. I dream bigger than reality in everything I do which has presented great challenges that I am proud to have overcome and create magic in the process.

Life

Although I often find myself consumed by projects that excite me, I make every effort to maintain a healthy work-life balance. I truly love life and have been fortunate to have had countless meaningful experiences in my 30-something years.

When I’m not working you can find me on adventures with my husband and daughter, exploring the world, participating in Burning Man and BitF, discovering new activities to stay fit and healthy, swimming in open water, hiking in challenging terrain, listening to music for hours at end, volunteering for theatre and social ventures, spending time with family and friends, striving to leave the world a better place.

Events & Theatre

My career has taken me through many meaningful production roles in events and shows of many scales. My unique blend of technical and creative experience allows me to push limits to create truly special and unforgettable moments. I am at my best on site and behind the scenes, under pressure, striving to execute brilliant events and I have yet to find the limit to my energy and enthusiasm. In short, I live and breath production!

My proudest accomplishments in events and theatre include:

Too Fly Productions

Too Fly is a local musical theatre company on a mission to promote radical self-love and inclusion. As Co-Founder and Technical Director I am responsible for the technical production of our ambitious original musicals, as well as team management, stage design and construction, venue and vendor coordination, and managing technical issues as they arise. In addition, I manage Front of House during shows, where I bring my social events experience to create interactive audience environments, often in costume and heels!

TED Conferences

In 2014 the TED Conference moved to Vancouver and I jumped at the opportunity to get involved in this flagship event in my hometown. In my role as a lead for the TED Social Program, I worked with a team to produce all aspects of the social events for the TED and TEDGlobal conferences, from conceptualizing through planning and on-site execution of immersive events for 1500+ attendees. Events that I designed and produced as lead include the Welcome Party and Celebration in Vancouver, and Welcome Reception in Edinburgh, Scotland.

In 2023 I re-joined TED as a contractor with the Conference Operations team, responsible for the creative planning and on-site buildout of the conference venues.

Vancouver Pride Parade

For six years I served on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver Pride Society as Parade Director. In this role I was responsible for the planning and successful execution of the largest annual single-day event in British Columbia, while managing a modest, non-profit budget and high standard of safety for more than half a million spectators

I love bringing exceptional online experiences to life, which I have been doing for over a decade as a WordPress developer.

Briteweb

As a Senior Developer for Briteweb I led the ground-up development of large-scale WordPress sites for social impact organizations, with a brilliant team of strategists, designers, content editors and project managers. Select projects include:
